Wrote two Inception drabbles today, so I'm posting them together and putting them behind cuts.

Ariadne greeted Arthur at the entrance to the warehouse. They shared a friendly hug, but quickly remembered that they were there for business. She invited him inside and began briefing him on the job.

Suddenly, French music blared from around a corner. Arthur rushed to investigate. Ariadne followed.

Dom and Eames were just waking up.

"Ariadne, what the hell?" said Arthur.

"I didn't hire them!" said Ariadne. "They volunteered. They're not getting paid."

"I'm mentoring her," explained Dom, "and he's mentoring me so I can protect her. That's the only reason we're here."

Arthur looked at them, disbelieving and irritated.

"I hate accidental discoveries like this," said Arthur. "You all know that. You could have told me."

"I was going to, later," said Ariadne. "I'm sorry this happened instead. The plan's still the same. I'm extracting, you're taking point. They're just extra bodyguards."

Arthur turned to Dom. "Ariadne said you were here, but you weren't in."

"I couldn't help it," said Dom. "She means too much to me. I can't let her get killed."

Arthur's expression softened. "Me neither."

"It seems we all have the same motive," said Eames. "Are we a team again, then?"

"I guess so," said Arthur.
