Yesterday, I wrote another haiku. Today, it's another snippet of my story "Christy's Reawakening."
Before she'd gone into stasis, Christy hadn't had much of an idea of what her future held. She had just thought that she and Umaci would continue to go on adventures together for the rest of her life. Now, she suddenly found herself in a future she had never begun to imagine. Umaci was gone, and the unknown lay before her.
Amy had Written Christy as a very self-directed person. Within the world where her stories took place, Christy had always thought up, planned, and executed whatever adventures she desired. Instinct told Christy to do the same now, but confusion and self-doubt held her back. She supposed that life in this new city they were all now living in offered many new opportunities for excitement, just as Umaci had, but she felt that she lacked the knowhow and the tools to take advantage of these opportunities. This left her feeling adrift, as if she didn't really belong in the world that now surrounded her.
Vicki and Alex had been living here for a while now. Did they fit in here? Christy decided to talk to them both in the next day or two, and find out what their lives were like here.
